Day 150!!!

Breakfast exceeded expectations. It was a mound of pancakes. He also had a piano and was excited to hear me play because Papi told him I knew how to.

His cabin was filled with unique decorations, lots of deer heads, a pool table, foosball and lots of other specialities. We tried not to linger because we needed to get to the Kennebec to cross via canoe and get to the Sterling Inn for our resupply

A man named Rob used a canoe to get us across the Kennebec River. He volunteers his time everyday for a few hours so hikers don't have to Ford it. Two people have died in recent years trying to.

The dam upstream releases water in the morningz and that's why the ferry ends at 2:00pm because the river becomes too dangerous

He takes you across 2 at a time, and then the whole group of us from breakfast called the Sterling Inn and got picked up at the road. We were planning on resuppyling then hiking 15 more miles, but decided to stay the night, and slackpack 12 more miles that day! It was rainy out so it was easy to justify hiking more if we were taking a shower later

Rewind and Olive Oil also decided to join us. We quickly gathered our things and started the slackpack. They have a shuttle to a pub that's at 5:00pm so we were rushing to get back.

Once we got back, we showered, started laundry then went to the pub for beer and food. I ate two entrees of chicken fingers and fries.

Tomorrow we will hiked 20+ miles to Monson and get to Shaws Hiker Hostel.

Happy Trails 🌲
