Day 82

We all missed our 5:00am alarm in the shelter today. We knew it was going to rain all day, and had 23 miles to the half gallon challenge. Halfway on the AT people try to eat a half gallon of Ice Cream

Since it was so rainy, I barely took my phone out to take pictures. It was mainly a head down day, just to get the miles in as fast as possible. We were soaked, but managed to get to the store by 3:00pm

Feels good to be past the halfway mark finally. It felt like we have been halfway for a long time now, but the miles to Katahdin are finally smaller than the miles to Springer. 

At the store, Hiccup let us know there was a Hostel right next door so we decided to spend the night. We were way too wet to continue hiking and wanted a warm bed since it was available. 

At the store, we decided to get lunch first, which was a mistake because itade the ice cream a whole lot harder. 

We watched the survivor finale and tried to eat all the ice cream. I only ate two pints before giving up, but I chose Chocolate and Moose Tracks as my two flavors. Tama was the only one able to eat the entire half gallon. Breakfast will have to be ice cream for the rest of us.
