Day 58

We hit 700 miles today! We were all very exhausted after our 23 mile day yesterday but had Dragons Tooth and McAfee Knob to hike to today.

Also anybody know what this plant is, we all couldn't figure it out?
Here is Dragons Tooth 
Papi almost stepped on this snake after Dragons Tooth. We hiked a few miles to get to a gas station to grab some soda and pizza.
While we were there, another hiker showed up in Hiccups midlayer fleece that fell out of her pack a few weeks ago. She already bought a new one so she let the girl keep it.
Saw this guy up on the Ridgeline. Turtle, Tortoise? We weren't sure 
When I got to McAfee Knob there wasn't anybody to take my picture and I didn't feel like waiting. So here is a picture from last time! 
Hopefully we can get views like this in the morning. We're camping .7 miles north so we can hike back easily for the sunrise

Tinkers Cliffs and Daleville tomorrow, we will be staying at a Hostel to get some showers and laundry in.

Day 1

Day 1 got off to a less than ideal start. Big snorer in the shelter last night. Got started around 8:00 with a quick intro about leave no trace at the visitor center. Registered and got our hiker tags, we're numbers 526 and 528.  Started the 8.8 mile trek up the approach trail. Which leads from the Gateway Arch to Springer Mountain. Some people opt to drive up and bypass the approach trail which is a highly discussed point between thruhikers. I personally think you should hike it. What's the difference adding 9 miles to an already 2000+ mile trek. Day 4

Made quick time taking down camp this morning. Neither of us had much for breakfast left. I only had 7 granola bars, the butt end of a baguette, and a little pepperoni left. Ate half of that, and flew towards Blood Mountain. Which is the equivalent to one of the smaller Belknap Range Mountains. Packs were as light as could be with no food in them. Shelter at the top Unfortunately I'm now 0/2 for views on a blood Mountain as both times I've been up it's been incredibly foggy. By the time we made it to the bottom the sun came out and we both had no food in our package.
