Day 51
We had an easier day planned for today since the last two days have been longer. We had 7 miles to go to get to the Brushy Mountain Outpost. I was thinking about some breakfast sandwiches, the entire hike. It was mainly on an old logging road again today, so it was pretty similar to the days prior.
Made it to the diner, just before they stopped making breakfast. They had some snacks to choose from, along with ramen/tuna/candy/soda, etc. I got two breakfast sandwiches and a diet pepsi.
We had another easy 9 miles after the outpost. We stayed there for around 2 hours chatting/hanging out. Me, patches, Hiccup, Tama and Papi. The afternoon flew by, but we did have to do a 9 mile water carry since we're in a drier portion of the AT. Typically we camp where there is water but there weren't any good options today.
We hit mile 600, and camped shortly afterwards near a gravel road. We got to camp early, which was a nice change of pace. It was nice to spend some time together at camp
