Day 48
6 weeks on trail today! Checkout was at 10:00am so we had some time before we needed to be out of the apartment. I shipped some clothes I don't need home, my red REI sunhoodie and pants I don't wear. Tama and Papi also put some stuff in the package.
When we got to the trail magic there was Jersey Mike's and Coors Banquets waiting for us. We worked very hard to earn these, hiking 3.8 miles this day.
We checked out said hello to Coach, who runs the store and social media. We even got our picture taken and put on their Instagram Story.
Very happy to get to spend some time in Marion. Definitely a very hiker friendly town, free town bus, and very nice people overall. Last time we only went to Ingles and Mcdonalds. Would absolutely come stay here again. The outfitter has anything you could possibly need. The owner is very big on stocking up on smaller brands like Jolly Gear or Town Shirts. Which we are all now rocking. Hiccup and I got Jolly Gear while Tama and Papi got Town Shirts. I'll make sure to take more close up pictures of the designs tomorrow. Our shuttle driver never showed up which was frustrating. Especially since Hiccup's partner was meeting us for trail magic this afternoon. The outfitter was able to get us a shuttle and he even offered to let us slackpack. So he dropped us off at the trailhead four miles away from where the magic was and met up to drop off our packs. It was a very nice gesture especially since it allowed us to move incredibly fast! It's amazing how fast you can move with nothing on your back. All we took was a water bottle each.

Hiccup lives 4 hours away in northern Virginia but as we hike, we'll get closer and closer so we're hoping he'll continue to come visit Hiccup!
We only had .9 miles left to camp afterwards so it was an easy end to the day. We didn't eat much after the magic since we were so full. We originally planned for 5 miles but lost a lot of the time stuck in town without a ride.
Happy Trails 🌲
