Day 45

Bad news, no ponies were spotted today. I'm glad I saw them last time, Tama also didn't see any. Hiccup and Papi saw one pony yesterday and Patches saw two at the end of the day.

Within 20 mins of hiking today, we all hit mile 500 which was exciting. We're starting to creep up on the mileage that I stopped at last time, 777.
It was very windy this morning, which may explain the lack of ponies. We had 16 miles to hike today with less than 3000ft of gain so it was very easy and smooth.
We stopped for a lunch after 11 miles at Old Orchard Shelter but we were still able to get to camp before 3:00pm. Tomorrow we will push 19 miles to the Partnership Shelter where you can order food to the shelter. We're thinking pizza will be on the menu for tomorrow night. After that we will head into Marion for Thursday night at a Hostel, resupply, and get back out on trail on Friday.
We made a small campfire ate dinner, and were all in our tents by 7:45.

Finishing the day on Mile 515.2, which equals to just about 11.5 miles a day. But for the time being, 16-20 miles a day is our new normal, which should bring the average up a bit after a while.

Happy trails 🥾
