Day 44
Waking up on my new sleep pad is way more enjoyable than my old one. Another big shout-out to my run club crew because my hips are saved. Today was a pretty boring day overall, we had 19 miles to hike which was almost all on the detour.
With two miles left in the day we finally met back up with the AT and entered the Grayson Highlands. Me Patches, Hiccup, Tama and Papi camped at mile 499.4 so early in the morning tomorrow we will hit 500. We also booked a Hostel for Thursday night in Marion so we're already dreaming of town food.
Temps dipped closed to mid 30s since we're high up in elevation. Very glad we all kept our winter gear, because when it was 80 degrees in town, we were all second guessing ourselves.
No ponies yet, but we hopefully should see them tomorrow. I'll try to remember to take a picture of the inside of my tent with the new pad tomorrow!
